‘The River Nile’ (2018)
Drenched in golden tones of natural light, this piece beautifies cool tones of grey and blue, intermingling them with warm brushes of gold and burgundy brown.
This painting was based on a trip I took to Egypt last year. Miles from our path in the desert we caught glimpses of the Nile River and a rainy downpour during the middle of the day. The hues of the sun mixed with the furious clouds of a summer rain created a soft, cool palette of colors that mixed gracefully with the sun burnt earth, creating the feelings of cold and wet while still remaining warm and natural.
Acrylic and gel mediums on gallery stretched canvas with 2 inch thick borders. Painted borders.
