Inspired by the rare and celestial stillness of an eclipse, this painting explores the mystery and beauty of Arabic calligraphy through the sacred letters known as Huroof-e-Muqatta’at—the “disconnected” or “mysterious” letters found at the opening of several chapters in the Holy Quran.

At first glance, these letters appear familiar, yet their deeper meaning remains veiled. Throughout history, scholars, mystics, and believers have reflected on their significance, only to arrive at the understanding that their true meaning is known to Allah (swt) alone. This piece honors that divine secrecy and invites viewers to engage not through translation, but through faith, reverence, and contemplation.

Rendered in gold and layered brushwork, each stroke reflects the intricate structure of the Arabic script—transforming the unknown into a visual experience of sacred geometry and artistic devotion.
